THE SENA WAY BJP ally cites border skirmishes, soldier killings for anti-Pak rhetoric
Pakistani ghazal singer Ghulam Ali’s concert in Mumbai to pay tribute to late singer Jagjit Singh was cancelled on Wednesday night after Shiv Sena raised objections to the show, citing border skirmishes and killing of Indian soldiers.
The organisers cancelled the show despite Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis promising full security to Ali and the concert, and also called the attempt to drag the singer into the controversy as “improper“. But the organisers didn’t want to take a chance in the face of the threat.
