Cops Say Exam Fear May Be The Cause
In yet another incident of student succumbing to exam pressure, a class 10th student, Dimple Chauhan, 15, hanged herself to death at her house in Rayjibibi Chawl at Amraiwadi on Sunday morning.
This is the second incident within a week wherein a class 10th student has committed suicide due to exam fear.
Sanjna Vasvani, who used to live in Sardarnagar with her family , had hanged herself to death a week ago. According to police, she, too, was afraid that she would not be able to fare well in exams.
Dimple used to study in Vidhya Sagar School at Hatkeshwar. “Out of fear of failing in exams, Dimple was not going to school to collect her board exam receipt. On Saturday night, her father Vishnu Chauhan asked her to go to the school and collect the receipt,“ said a senior police official.
On Sunday night when Dimple’s parents had gone out, she hanged herself with a duppatta tied to the ceiling fan.
