Forest Rights: Van Gujjar family released on bail, after custodial assault CJP and AIUFWP writes formal complaint to NHRC

The family of Mustafa Chopra has been released on bail after their arrest on June 17th, during which their dera (shelter) was demolished by police and forest officials. While in custody, Mustafa and his family were physically assaulted by officials. CJP and the All India Union of Forest Working People (AIUFWP) have written a formal complaint to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to take note of  the blatant violation of legal and human rights of Van Gujjars at the hands of police and forest officials.
