Current govt shares our views, won’t ban us: Sanatan Sanstha

PUNE: The Devendra Fadnavis government is likely to face major embarrassment with Sanatan Sanstha spokesperson Abhay Vartak saying on Monday, “Our organisation is not banned because of the current government. But, it would have been banned by the previous Congress-NCP government in the current situation.”
Speaking to the media in Sangli, Vartak initially refused to make any statement on the demand to ban the Sanstha on the recommendations by the previous Congress-NCP government. He then admitted that there were no steps to ban the Sanstha as the current government shared the Sanstha’s views on certain issues related to Hindus.
Vartak was in Sangli, from where its activist Sameer Gaikwad was arrested in connection with murder of communist leader Govind Pansare. Sanatan Sanstha took out a march in Sangli demanding action against so called progressive intellectuals for repeatedly hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus.
