Teenage girl’s road accident reveals rape, pregnancy in Mumbai hospital

Police arrested the accused rapist and booked him under the POSCO act.
Thane: A minor girl was allegedly raped by a youth in the city and the crime came to light when she met with a road accident and was found to be pregnant.
The 14-year-old girl came to know she was pregnant after she was admitted to a hospital following the accident, police said.
The girl, her parents and younger sister lived on a footpath in the Wagle Estate locality of the city and collected and sold scrap material to earn a livelihood.
On January 6, the girl was knocked down by a vehicle on the road. She suffered injuries in the mishap and was rushed to a hospital in Mulund.
A case was then registered with the Shrenagar police station, Thane police PRO Gajanan Kabdule said.
