BJP member Subramanian Swamy on Sunday offered Muslims what he called the `Lord Krish na’ package, say ing the “can keep 39,997 mosques“ if they allow Hindus three temples.
“I hope Muslim leaders don’t become Duryodhans (sic),“ Swamy tweeted. The offer was a purported reference to the long-standing demand of Hindu right-wingers for sites of historical temples at Kashi, Mathura and Ayodhya be reserved for the community .
Swamy had earlier said, “Suppose we don’t do it (construct Ram temple) this year, the next year is the election and then we have to do it the following year, which is 2018. Then you will say it is for the LS polls. Every year, there is an election. So, we can’t stop our activities just because of an election.“
He added the construction of Ram temple could start be ore the end of this year, saying the “final verdict by the SC will pave the way“ for it.
