A Valentine’s Day party took an ugly turn when a 26-year-old MBA graduate was allegedly raped by her friend at her flat here on Sunday .
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Sunday after the party , when the woman had retired for the night and was fast asleep in her bedroom.
Police have arrested the woman’s 23-year-old friend.
The complainant, who shares the flat with other female friends, is an employee of a departmental store in the city .
A police officer said the woman and her flatmates had organised a party along with their two male friends on Saturday night to celebrate Valentine’s Day .
“After dinner, the male friends stayed on as it was late.The complainant went to sleep in her bedroom,“ she said.
“Around 3.30am, the woman woke up on finding that the suspect had forced himself upon her. She pushed him out of the room and locked the door from inside. On Sunday morning, she called up the police control room and told them about the whole incident,“ according to the police.
Police arrested the suspect, who operateas a garage in the city, in the evening.
