With the nine-day Navratri festival beginning Tuesday, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal started a campaign to keep Muslims away from garba dance venues.
About a dozen VHP men held banners outside a popular private club, located at SG Highway, which hosts garba, declaring that “only Hindus will be allowed to enter the venue”.
“Navratri is Hindus’ religious festival. Why give entry to those who don’t believe in idolatry and call Hindus ‘kafir’,” the banners put up on the boundary wall of the club said.
The VHP members told mediapersons that they will be put up similar posters and banners at all the venues hosting garba dance events.
