Mishap sparks riot in Vadodara

Six Sustain Minor Injuries
Six people received minor injuries in the communal riot that broke out in Fatehpura-Bhandwad area of the city on Tuesday evening.
Mobs belonging to two different communities clashed with each other over a minor altercation and pelted each other with stones triggering tension in the area. Police lobbed a tear gas shell and also resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the mobs and said they have begun the process to identify the accused and will arrest them soon.
According to the police, the rioting occurred due to a minor accident near Mangleshwar Temple on Fatehpura-Bhandwad Road. “Irfan Sheikh was riding his bicycle when he lost his balance and fell on some women passing by. The incident led to heated arguments and soon locals beat up Irfan as they felt that he was harassing the women,“ said the police. Some locals said Irfan got epilepsy attack due to which he lost his balance.
