When ‘citizens for Justice and peace’ came to know about Gangadhar, from two other recently released inmates, they took up his case.

They gathered two bailors and prepared all necessary paperwork so that he can get bail.

CJP coördinator Nanda Ghosh told us that, when they contacted Gangadhar’s family they came to know that his father had passed away and his mother lives with her sister.

When his mother and sister came to know about Gangadhar being alive, they were overwhelmed with emotions and couldn’t stop crying.

CJP organised for his bailors and appealed to the foreigners tribunal so that he is allowed to go to the Bishnupur PS (which is closer to his house) for his weekly appearances.

Nanda Ghosh and his team is also helping Gangadhar reach home. After he is dropped off at his residence in Radhanagar, Nanda would talk to the officer in charge at the Bishnupur PS, so that Gangadhar can make his weekly appearances there, as instructed by the court.

Amidst all this, Gangadhar is still unaware of his father’s demise.
