On the third day of the Anti-Terrorism Week (ATW), the Nerul police organised a rally, wherein around 5,000 Muslim students from nine colleges and schools participated.

The theme of the rally was ‘stop terrorism’. The ATW is a six-day programme which focuses on creating awareness amongst students and Navi Mumbaikars on how to deal with any suspicious activity in the city, whom to inform and how to help cops in averting any terror threat.

The rally started from Nerul police station and went on till Rajiv Gandhi stadium, on Wednesday. The highlight of the event was 5,000 persons from Muslim community carried banners of ‘No More Terrorism’, ‘Islam is Against Violence’ and many more. As a New Year resolution, a group of city Muslims launched ‘Muslims against ISIS and Terrorism’, denouncing the jihadist terror organization’s brutalities and chalking out steps to stop Muslim youth from becoming IS recruits. A joint initiative of Navi Mumbai Police, the campaign has created a task force of volunteers to identify and counsel radicalised or potential recruits of ISIS or Islamic State (IS) who have been or are about to be trapped in the “fake jihad” through online propaganda.
