OUTRAGEOUS COMMENTS BY BJP MINISTERS & RIGHT-WING GROUPS KEEP POT BOILING IN UTTAR PRADESH AFTER LYNCHING OF A MAN OVER MEAT
02, Oct 2015
Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, minister of state for agriculture and Muzaffarnagar MP , has said the murder of Mohammad Akhlaq in Dadri allegedly for consuming beef is “wrong“ but alleged the ruling Samajwadi Party is encouraging cow slaughter to appease a “particular community“, causing tension between communities.
“The murder (of Akhlaq) is wrong. But I would also say that the cases of cow slaughter have increased tremendously in Uttar Pradesh under this government. The police are not taking any action. Their hands are tied and they say the orders are coming from above,“ Balyan told ET.“Cows are being slaughtered in houses, fields and some mohallas. My people have even seen blood (of slaughtered cows) in drains in some mohallas.“ Akhlaq, 50, was lynched by a mob on Monday as he was suspected to be consuming beef and storing it in his house. His son was injured in the incident.
