The Government of Kerala has issued certain guidelines for preventing overcrowding at the vaccination centres. This also helps ensure adherence to Covid Appropriate Behaviour at such places.

In a bid to eliminate the spot-registration procedure, from April 22, 2021, the only way for citizens to book their first and second vaccination doses is online. Both Public and Private Vaccination Centres are directed to facilitate online registrations for the said procedure and were obliged to schedule the sessions well in advance in accordance with the availability of vaccine etc.

Districts are required to ensure timely vaccination of those above the age of 45 years and appropriately plan the COVIDSHIELD and COVAXIN Doses.

The primary idea of preventing people from gathering in large numbers for securing a vaccine is a commendable one, considering the overcrowding that takes place at such centres can lead to further spread of the disease if people fail to maintain social distancing or wear masks appropriately.
