A middle-aged woman was allegedly gangraped by four men in a moving car late night on Friday when she went to buy food in east Delhi’s Anand Vihar area. A case has been registered and the police are trying to verify the incident. Police claims to have identified and seized the vehicle and the alleged rapists have also been identified. Officials say that according to the victim, she was pulled inside the car and raped by four men, after which she was dumped at a secluded area near Kakdi Mod in Madhu Vihar area.
“She said that soon as she was about to return, a white coloured car stopped by her side in which four men were sitting.
Seeing the men she said that she tried to move away from the vehicle but one of them got down of the vehicle and forcefully pulled her inside the car. She said that the men then raped herin turn and assaulted her brutally when she resisted,” said the police.
After the accused dumped her near Kakdi Mod and drove away, the woman called up the police. who took her to a hospital for a medical examination. “Following her complaint, a case under IPC sections 376D (raped by one or more persons), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 363 (punishment for kidnapping), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) has been registered.
We are ascertaining the sequence of events. The case is being probed from all angles. The accused have been identified and the vehicle traced. The arrest will be made after the victim’s statement is recorded,” police said.
