Two dead in police firing as crowd went on rampage over girl’s self-immolation
Tension prevailed in Binwar town area in Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh following Saturday’s violence in which two persons were killed in police firing.
The violence was a sequel to an incident of eve-teasing in which a 17-year-old Intermediate student was targeted by two youths on Friday. The girl who allegedly set herself on fire succumbed to injuries on Saturday. Two police personnel, including the SP, were suspended. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has ordered an inquiry.
