BJP Mumbai Chief spews venom against minorities in election speech CJP moves Election Commission

In a flagrant violation of the Rule 3 of the Model Code of Conduct set by the Election Commission for Political Parties and Candidates, BJP Mumbai Chief Mangal Pratap Lodha delivered a communally charged speech at a rally in Mumbadevi on Wednesday. While the EC took cognizance of the matter suo motu keeping the repercussions of the speech in mind, CJP had too, already written to it demanding action against Lodha’s violation of the Section 123 (3A) of the Representation of People’s Act for instigating disaffection and violence against minorities.
CJP requested that the EC pass necessary strictures against Lodha and direct him to issue an unconditional public apology for attempting to incite hatred amongst communities.
