Mob of over 3,000 people pelt stones at policemen; situation in control now

Bhavnagar: Violence broke out on the streets of Sandhiyavad area in Bhavnagar city on Friday night when a mob of 3,000 people attacked patrolling policemen and pelted stones at them. Seven policemen were injured in the attack and 31 alleged rioters were rounded up.
The situation at Sandhiyavad, considered the most sensitive part of Bhavnagar, remained tense on Saturday, but the authorities said it was kept well under control with heavy police deployment. The 31 people arrested were booked under sections of the IPC pertaining to rioting and attacking police, said officials.
