The communal riots in Gujarat in 2002 were in gross violation of the Principles of International Law. Moreover, the atrocities committed were in contravention of a number of International Conventions, few of which have been appended below. It is no secret that the communal carnage in 2002 has caused India a great amount of embarrassment in the world community.
