One year later, Muzaffarnagar again on edge

23, Aug 2014

Tension is simmering in Muzaffarnagar once again as both Hindus and Muslims prepare to mark the first anniversary of last year’s deadly riots that rendered over 50,000 homeless and left 63 dead.
With less than a week for it, the family of Sachin and Gaurav, who were lynched by a mob after they had killed one Shahnawaz for teasing their sister, have decided to hold a yagna on August 28 at Malikpura village. But for that they will have to pass minority dominated Kawal and Muslims there say they won’t let them through.
