Within months of bringing in an Act that mandated 10-year jail for cow slaughter, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has mooted a plan to issue licences to eat beef for foreigners living in Haryana.
The proposal is for a short period and aimed at foreign delegations arriving for the three-day `Happening Harya na’ summit scheduled to be held in Gurgaon from March 6 to 8.
A large number of foreign entrepreneurs are expected to attend the mega event.
During his meeting with reporters in New Delhi on Saturday , Khat tar had hinted at issuing licences to foreigners who eat beef.
“Everyone has a personal lifestyle for eating and drinking,“ he had said.
