245 picked up by top companies at Muslim job fair in Mira Road

At least 1,000 job seekers got the opportunity to meet 45 well-known companies or employers at a mega-job fair held in a Church by a Muslim organisation in Mira Road on Saturday.
The fair was successful in providing on-the-spot job offers to 245 aspirants. Organised by Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) in association with NGO Ishteraq at St Thomas Church, the event was a rare example of communal harmony witnessed by the people of Mira Road.
AMP president Aamir Edresy said that it was different from other job fairs. This job fair was aimed at attracting aspirants from all communities and the organisers had a holistic approach towards it. An aptitude test was conducted for all aspirants by experts before selecting the candidates and offering them jobs.
Edresy informed that special training on interview techniques was given to the aspirants in addition to lectures on personality development. He added that F Gheewala, who is known for his abilities as a recruiter and guide for aspirants, was an event partner. NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik and Father Benny T, parish priest of St Thomas church, inaugurated the fair.
