New Delhi: In a massive show of strength, more than 10,000 people turned up at a rally organised in support of the Jawaharlal Nehru University whose student leader Kanhaiya Kumar was arrested under section charges, last week. People carried out a march from Mandi House to Jantar Mantar in central Delhi.
Students from JNU, Delhi University, Ambedkar University and Jamia Milia Islamia formed a major chunk of the crowd and raised slogans in favour of Kanhaiya who was on Wednesday sent to Tihar jail for 14 days. Kanhaiya has been accused by the Delhi Police of allegedly being involved in anti- national activities.
