BJP National Executive member C. T. Ravi on Monday defended a tweet he posted on Sunday that called for the implementation of the Gujarat model in Uttar Pradesh to stem communal riots in the state.
The Karnataka MLA said he had no intention to stoke communal tensions and that his tweet was a “ genuine suggestion” to help the UP government control communal violence.
“ Since 2002, Gujarat hasn’t seen a single ( communal) incident as the government there has taken serious action ( to control it).
