The Apex Court refuses to order the deignified return of the remains to the survivors. The survivors has then to separately approach the Trial Court which ordered the return of the bodly remains on December 16, 2008. Despite this, for eighteen months the the Gujarat Police deliberately refuses to act, delays the claiming of remains from FSLR Laboratory, Red Hill Hyderabad, Finally after repeated applications to the Trial Court the remains are brought back to Lunawada only in August 2010, i.e. eighteen months after the Trial Court Order and four years and eight months after survivors first approached the Gujarat High Courts for the Fundamental Right for Dignified Burial.
