Ahmedabad: A man lodged a complaint against Pravin Togadia, international working president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) with the court for a hate speech given by the latter on April 22. The video, broadcast by YouTube, sparked communal resentment.
Aashim Shaikh, a resident of Teen Darwaja in Ahmedabad, filed a complaint against the VHP leader on Friday. In his complaint, he mentioned viewing Togadia’s speech against the minority which aimed at fanning communal hatred. As it was on a social platform, it could be liable to spread tension.
The complainant listed Togadia as a repeat offender in many cities and decided to take legal action against him under sections 153, 153(C) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 210 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
