Days before the Centre releases a stamp on the former head of Gorakhnath Math Mahant Avaidyanath, his successor and BJP MP Yogi Adityanath said the growth in the country’s Muslim population was a “threat”.
He has also demanded a central law to check the population growth of Muslims. Adityanath said the latest Census figures confirm that the rising population of Muslims is a “threat to Hindus”.
“What do the Census figures indicate? We have seen in the past. Can we forget what happened in the past?” he said.
“There should be a law to check their population. Whether there should be one child or two can be discussed, but a law applicable on all communities is needed,” he said.
The MP’s official website is running an opinion poll on whether Adityanath’s appeal to Centre to curb the growth in Muslim population.
