Tension following communal flare-up in several areas of Belgaum city

Tension continued in Belgaum city following fresh violence in some areas on Thursday morning.
The police resorted to lathi-charge and arrested 10 miscreants allegedly indulging in stone-throwing and unruly behaviour.
In all, the police arrested 22 persons in connection with the violence that broke out in the communally-sensitive areas of Chavat Galli, Darbar Galli, Shetti Galli, Topi Galli, Jalgar Galli, Khade Bazaar, Badkal Galli, Khadak Galli, Khanjar Galli and Bhendi Bazaar in the Market Police limits late on Wednesday night.
