T Raja Singh, BJP MLA

BJP MLA T. Raja Singh, Goshamahal Assembly Constituency, is a serial hate offender who is known for delivering anti-Muslim, derogatory and offensive speeches. In all his speeches, Singh has been (and continues to) use the same instigating words, promoting the same divisive ideologies between the Hindu and Muslim community. The pattern of Singh’s speech are the same, invoke the aggressive protective senses of men towards their Hindu sisters and daughters, provoke them on the fictitious issue of Love-Jihad and Land Jihad, talk about cow slaughter, and then make violent appeals to physically harm Muslims as also working towards establishing a country without Muslims. Previously, he had openly threatened Uttar Pradesh’s Hindu voters to re-elect the Adityanath-led BJP government or else their houses will be identified and destroyed with bulldozers and JCBs.

Singh gave a speech at Aurangabad, Maharashtra and used anti-Muslim slurs, made false accusations against Muslims of trapping Hindu women and instigating the audience. Many threats of violence and genocide are also openly made by Singh. A FIR was filed against BJP suspended MLA T Raja Singh with charges of promoting enmity between different groups on the basis of religion, race, place, and so on, but no arrest was made.

Singh gives hate speech at Shrirampur at a programme organised to celebrate the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Singh spread his divisive and communal ideology by molding the history of the Maharashtra, coloring all the Muslims as anti-India, and accusing them of committing various anti-Hindu offences like illegal cow slaughter, forceful conversions, illegal land capture, and “love-Jihad”. A FIR had been filed against Singh by Ahmednagar police.

A Facebook spokesperson stated that the company banned Singh’s account for violating their policy and promoting engagement in violence and hate on their platform. The ban involved removal of pages, groups, and accounts set up to represent said individual and post such content.

Singh, while addressing a public meeting in Maharashtra, said that the dream of a ‘Hindu Rashtra’ can be achieved if Hindus become united and that India would become a Hindu Rashtra by 2023. He also demanded for the implementation of the CAA and nationwide NRC to weed out illegal infiltrators, he also said that Hindus must be given training in operating arms for ‘self defence’.

Singh spoke at a Ram Navami event and said that whoever would come in the middle of the making of a Hindu Rashtra would be mowed down. He had also instigated that each Hindu needed to have a sword in his hand and Hindu youths should be trained in operating AK 47 guns.

He declared at a public meeting in Maharashtra that “Anyone who does not say ‘Bharath matha ki jai’, or worship Gau (cow) Matha cannot be in Bharath”.

He backed Assam’s draft National Register of Citizens (NRC) from which 40 lakh people were excluded, saying, “Today, a very good decision was taken. I agree completely with the NRC’s decision because what work do these Bangladeshis have in India? They are living in Assam with an intention to destroy India. The Centre must take steps to send them back as soon as possible. This is my request,” adding, “If these people don’t leave our country peacefully, I believe that there is a need to make them understand in another language, just like in other countries, they are shot and made to flee, in India as well, if they don’t leave, there is a need to shoot them and make them leave with bullets (sic)”, The News Minute reported.

Singh responded to a hoax about the Amarnath Yatra in Kashmir, saying, “The time of war has arrived and we have to see who is standing with the nation and who is not.” Singh stated, “Ek Kashmiri k#*%a bhaunka, Omar Abdullah” (A Kashmiri dog barked, Omar Abdullah), and then alleged that Abdullah would stop the Amarnath Yatra. Singh added that the day Hindus stopped going for the Amarnath Yatra, the Muslims of Kashmir would die of starvation because that is the only source of earnings for them. He said, “Every year I request my Hindu brothers and sisters to boycott Kashmiri Muslims when they go for Amarnath Yatra and they should only buy products and take services of Hindus”.
