The NDA government is likely to announce a new education policy by November this year. According to sources, several RSS-affiliated organisations have submitted proposals for a new policy, which will be discussed by officials of the HRD Ministry, who are likely to complete the task by October.On Saturday, HRD Minister Smriti Irani spent several hours discussing the new policy with a dozen members of RSS-affiliated organisations working in the education sector. The meeting was held at her residence. To discuss related issues, a larger group comprising nearly 40 persons from a dozen RSS-affiliated organisations will meet Irani on July 26-27, sources said.
According to sources, Irani told the meeting that she will try her best to announce the new policy by November this year. Those who attended the meeting include representatives from Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas, Shiksha Bachao Andolan, Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh, Akhil Bharatiya Itihaas Sankalan Samiti and Vidya Bharti. It was coordinated by RSS sah-sarkaryavah Dr Krishna Gopal.
