Pitching in her bit in the row over ban on women’s entry in ‘Shani Temple’, Sadhvi Ritambhara, Hindu right wing religious leader, said on Sunday that “such outdated traditions should be reviewed”. However, Ritambhara downplayed the issue as a minor one given the larger social context and continuing inequity against women. She said that women in this country should first fight for the right to take birth safely.

Speaking at a religious convention on cow protection, Ritambhara along with another Hindu preacher, Sadhvi Deva Thakur, stressed on the need for PM Narendra Modi-led Union government to intervene in issues like the building of Ram Temple, scrapping of Article 377, rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits and release of Sadhvi Pragya Thakur who is behind bars in the Malegaon blast case.

“Any tradition belonging to any place should be reviewed. But one should not push such issues beyond a point,” said Ritambhara, speaking on the Shani temple ban on women.
