Since the CoVid-19 lockdown was called, more than a week ago, the food supplies have dried up. Hence in the past few days, our teams spread out to acquire supplies, in the midst of a transport strike. Armed with face-masks, gloves, sanitisers and often walking long distances to make purchases, we and our partner organisations have been hard at work. We are procuring groceries and essentials to deliver to low-income families.
We worked with ‘The Jimme foundation’ and ‘Kranti’ and managed to deliver ration to over 200 families of sex workers. We partnered with ‘Prayas – Ek Koshish’ to deliver ration to the Transgender and other marginalized communities. We also provided essential supplies to nearly 50 families of daily wage workers from the North East. Our teams worked under harsh conditions, often going hungry for long periods due to unavailability of food, in far flung areas of Mumbai.
We want to continue helping the needy to ensure that no one goes hungry, in these difficult times. We appeal to you to donate generously.
