Following police raids at his home last year, well known author, activist and Dalit intellectual Dr Anand Teltumbde now faces the threat of imminent arrest. His name figures in the largely discredited ‘Bhima Koregaon’ case of the Pune Police which makes a link between the Elgar Parishad held in Pune on 31st December 2017, activities of the banned CPI(Maoist) and even a wild plot to assassinate the prime minister!
While the evidence presented by the police is at best flimsy, the wild speculations and the threat of arrests under UAPA has brought the lives of renowned authors, lawyers and civil rights activists to a standstill. Dr Anand Teltumbde weighs in on the way ahead for him and his family in this interview with civil rights activist Teesta Setalvad.
