A 16-year-old mentally disabled girl was raped by a 20-year-old man n Dabhoi on Friday. The parents of the girl told po ice that Dilip Vasava took heir daughter to an isola ed area and raped her.
The girl’s father told he police that Vasava fled rom the spot on seeing him. The police are yet to arrest the accused.
The police said the mi nor and her family had gone to attend a wedding in heir village on Friday.While the family was busy attending the wedding, Vasava lured the girl to an solated place and raped her repeatedly.
The girl’s father who went looking for her found he duo in an abandoned house. The father told the police that Vasava fled from the spot after he saw him approaching.
“The youth was known to the family. We have launched an investigation to track him down. When we asked them why they took long to file the complaint, they told us that they tried settling the issue with the help of their community leaders,“ said Dabhoi police inspector S K Wada.
