Needle of suspicion in rape of 14-yr-old, who underwent abortion last year, points at friend with whom she exchanged letters on V-Day last year
There is a twist in the Sabarkantha rape case where a 14-year-old had undergone medical termination of her 27-week-old foetus after the court gave her a go-ahead. Earlier, an FIR was filed against a doctor as the girl alleged she was raped by him in his clinic. However, a DNA test established that the doctor was not the father.
The needle of suspicion now points to the victim’s friend with whom she reportedly exchanged letters on Valentine’s Day last year. “Our investigation revealed the girl was in a relationship with a boy who studied with her. A letter has also been seized by the police,” said SD Patel, investigation officer.
