Assam: CJP Advocates for Women Confronting the Uphill Battle of Citizenship

Women, marginalised, have been disproportionately targeted in the citizenship crisis of Assam. Declared ‘doubtful foreigners’ and ‘D-voters’ regularly, these women’s overwhelming struggle to prove their citizenship is often heartbreaking.

But CJP’s grassroots work and experience helps us recognise the unique challenges that these women face. Our hands-on work has yielded many victories and relief for those severely affected. From battling in the courts, to developing a personal connection with these women to helping them get reintergrated into society, CJP’s team Assam has ensured that none of these women have been ignored.

Help us Help Assam.
