Indore: A 12-year-old boy, Gokul, beat Dhar cops and tracked a drone camera that went missing from Bhojshala on Saturday. The boy pedalled his way to the policemen carrying the drone camera on his bicycle on Saturday and later walked away with a cash reward of Rs 5,000 announced by the superintendent of police after cops failed to find it.
After the peaceful puja and namaz at Bhojshala on Friday, while Dhar district police and administration was patting its back, they realised that one of the three drone cameras that was used went missing. Drones were pressed into service to keep an eye on the crowd and spot any disturbance during Basant Panchami celebrations.
It sparked a panic and efforts to track down the drone failed during the night and early morning. Drone camera was purchased by state police for Rs 8.5lakh and was used as a trial to keep an eye on crowd before the Simhasta at Ujjain scheduled for April-May this year.
After the news reached Indore, SP (radio) Rajesh Dandotiya rushed to Dhar to command search operation. By afternoon when policemen could not get any clue, he announced a reward of Rs 5,000 on providing the clue.
