The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has planned up a ‘re-conversion’ drive in all parts of Odisha in the coming months along with efforts to increase its number of members, especially in rural areas.
This came to fore during a VHP conference held in Berhampur on Sunday. The VHP and its youth wing Bajrang Dal have planned up 41 similar conferences in different parts of the State in February. And the beginning was made from Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s home district Ganjam. It may be noted that for its organisational activity, the VHP and Bajrang Dal have divided Odisha into two parts, the eastern and the western. Eastern Odisha has 21 VHP regions, while western Odisha has 20.
