As part of its golden jubilee celebrations, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will organise a Virat Hindu Sammelan at Shahid Minar ground in Kolkata on December 20. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghachalak Mohan Bhagavat, VHP patron Ashok Singhal and VHP working president Praveen Togadia will address the Sammelan.
Sources in the VHP said the decision to hold the Sammelan in Kolkata was taken in view of the BJP gaining stre-ngth in West Bengal. The BJP won two seats in the Lok Sabha elections in May this year and capped it by winning one of the two Assembly seats that went to bypolls in September.
