A designated court, set up at R K Puram police station, sent Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya, both facing charges of sedition, to police custody for three days after a hearing Wednesday night that lasted for over an hour.
The two students had been arrested earlier in the day.
The office of the assistant commissioner of police, Safdarjung Enclave, turned into a make-shift courtroom after the magistrate arrived, said sources.
