Three girl students of SVS Yoga Medical College at Kallakurichi near Villupuram in Tamil Nadu committed suicide on Saturday evening accusing the administration of charging excess fees and “torture”.

The post-mortem on the body of one of the three girl students who committed suicide on Saturday evening is underway, according to the District Collector of Villupuram, Tamil Nadu.
However, the officials are yet to convince the other two families to let them conduct the post-mortem, added the Collector.
Three girl students of SVS Yoga Medical College at Kallakurichi near Villupuram in Tamil Nadu committed suicide on Saturday evening accusing the administration of charging excess fees and “torture”, and blaming college chairman Vasuki Subramanian for their death.
The bodies of the three were found in a well near the college. The girls were doing naturopathy courses.
According to the officials, four people have been interrogated in the matter. Following that, a case of cheating, extortion and abetting suicide have been registered against them, he said.
Earlier on Sunday, the parents and friends of the three girls had opposed the post-mortem. However, they had demanded the arrest of college chairman Vasuki Subramanian.
