The man who allegedly raped a 23-year-old in the ICU of a private hospital in Bahadurgarh last week has been identified as a local who lives close to the victim’s family, the police said on Monday.
The hospital CCTV cameras got a clear shot of his face and the locals have identified him, Bahadurgarh City police station SHO Ashok Dahiya said. “We will not disclose his identity because he is still absconding and might be alerted, but we are certain the woman did not know him before the incident was reported. He lives somewhere close to the hospital, and we expect to make an arrest within the next 24 hours.”
In the FIR, the victim, the wife of a Delhi Police sub-inspector, states, “At around 3.30 am, a man unknown to me entered my curtained bed in the ICU. There was no hospital staff present at the time. I took him to be a doctor. He put his hand on my mouth to muzzle me and then touched me inappropriately and sexually assaulted me. He also checked my medical files and drew the curtains close. He assaulted me again. Then he walked out.”
