The JJ Marg police late Wednesday night arrested two vendors for selling copies of the Urdu daily Avadhnama which had reproduced the cover of French weekly Charlie Hebdo with a Prophet Muhammad cartoon, reports Mateen Hafeez. A Sewri court released the duo on bail on Thursday . Cases have been registered against editor Shirin Dalvi and the paper has been shut, leaving its 25 staffers jobless. Shirin Dalvi, editor of the Mumbai edition of Urdu daily Avadhnama, who has multiple cases filed against her for reproducing the controversial cover of the French magazine Charlie Hebdo on January 17, is living like a fugitive. While her house in Mumbra is locked and her two collegegoing children (son and daughter) are living with relatives, she has sought refuge at friends’ places in the city and the suburbs.
