One of the girls moved the Supreme Court seeking protection
New Delhi: A khap panchayat in Uttar Pradesh issued a diktat that a Dalit girl and her sister should be raped and paraded naked in the village.
Reportedly, the diktat was issued to seek revenge for their brother’s action of eloping with a married girl from the Jat community.
The 23-year-old Dalit girl has now moved the Supreme Court seeking protection for herself and her family.
The girl reportedly in her complaint, alleged that the Jat community held a khap panchayat where the diktat was issued.
She also claimed that her house was ransacked and taken over by the Jat community following which her family moved to Delhi.
