Two days after an RSS worker was hacked to death at his house in Pappinissery, Kannur, police said they have identified 20 men suspected to be involved in the murder, but added that they were yet to establish political rivalry as the motive. P V Sujith (27) was killed Monday night, while his parents were injured in the attack.
“Six people were arrested within two hours of the murder. Remaining 14 will be arrested soon. We have collected their details and we have found that all of them were in touch with the six arrested,” said Kannur SP PN Unnirajan. He, however, claimed that so far there was no indication of a political rivalry behind the murder, other than the fact that six arrested had CPM links and the victim was an RSS worker. Unnirajan added that the police were yet confirm if the other accused had any CPM links.
