New Delhi, February 23, 2016
: From making a Twitter hashtag to organising door-to-door visits, the students of JNU are doing everything possible to ensure a good turnout for the protest march on Tuesday seeking “justice” for Hyderabad University scholar Rohith Vemula.
The protesters, which according to the organisers will include students from central universities across the country, will begin at Ambedkar Bhawan at 11 am and culminate at Jantar Mantar.
The organisers are working overtime to overcome obstacles presented by the simultaneous happenings at the campus. With a good number of students camping with the five youths wanted by the police and the possibility of police action anytime, the organisers are looking at other options.
JNUSU vice-president Shehla Rashid wanted the students to overcome the hindrances by gathering online support for the march from Monday night itself. Speaking to a large gathering outside JNU’s administration block, she urged them to trend the hashtag #JusticeForRohithVemula on Twitter.
