Death threat to Mysore rationalist

K.M. Rakesh
Bangalore, Sept. 10: A second rationalist has received death threats in Karnataka after M.M. Kalburgi, a campaigner against superstition and idol worship, was shot dead at his doorstep in Dharwad city on August 30.
K.S. Bhagawan, a Mysore-based writer and a close associate of Kalburgi, received an anonymous letter yesterday afternoon saying he was “next”.
Armed police were already protecting Bhagawan following a tweeted death threat on August 30, which had cited his statements against Hindu beliefs. His security has now been doubled.
“He is being given a four-man, 24×7 cover at home and wherever he goes,” Mysore police commissioner B.K. Singh said.
