Three shocking incidences believed to be aimed at hurting religious sentiments of majority Hindu community created tension in South Gujarat as miscreants vandalised idols at a temple and in the same region the head of a cow was found near a river bank.
According to police, an unidentified person vandalised idols at a temple in Dharampur town situated on the border of Gujarat and Maharashtra. During the investigation police found that the miscreant entered the temple with his face covered with a cloth and vandalised idols of Mohaneshwar temple. The priest of the temple Dinesh Rupasari lodged a complaint against the unidentified person at Dharampur police station.
The incident created tension in Dharampur as hundreds of people thronged to the temple and demanded stringent action against the malefactor who tried to create communal tension in the South Gujarat town. Meanwhile, in another instance aimed at inciting Hindus, an unidentified person not only killed a cow but threw its head on the bank of Panihari River in Bilimora village.
Local leader Vasantbhai informed the police and with their help villagers buried the cow’s head.
