Four Shiv Sena activists, including the party’s district president Gautam Saini, were arrested on Sunday for disrupting a Pakistani play being staged in the city on Saturday evening.
The four, who had stormed into an open-air theatre in Sector 29 and stopped the play , `Baanjh’, were sent to 14 days’ judicial custody by a local court. They told police they were working on the instructions of the Shiv Sena chief.Mumbai-based Sena has an office in Panipat. There is a group of Sena workers in Gurgaon but no local unit. The Sena’s district media chief Rituraj Aggarwal said, “They had instructions from the party and our district president was present and spearheaded the protest.“
Besides Saini (30), the three other suspects were identified as Jitu (22), Ajay (23) and Sumit (35).
