Aurangabad:No Financial Aid Even As Toll Rises To 694, State Plans To Provide Psychiatric Help
The handful of measures undertaken by the Maharashtra government to check farmer suicides in Marathwada seem to not have worked with 34 deaths reported in the region last week.
The suicides were recorded in the first week of September in this region.
So far, 694 farmers have committed suicide reeling from crop losses and burdened by unpaid loans this year.
While the state is yet to stir and announce financial packages to aide farmers in the worst drought-hit region of the country , revenue officials said the government has now issued a resolution to appoint psychiatrists in each district.
