Special cops’ team in Murthal
Haryana Police has asked former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s close aide Virender, and, Man Singh Dalal, who had been booked in Rohtak on sedition charges for trying to incite violence during the Jat quota agitation, to join investigation by Sunday.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday asked people to share information, if they have any, with the state police regarding the alleged incident of sexual assault of women near Murthal in Sonepat during the Jat quota agitation.
The three-member committee of women police officers constituted to receive complaints regarding alleged rape of women at Murthal near Sonepat during the Jat stir on Saturday visited the site of the alleged incident. Asked about recovery of some clothes belonging to women at Murthal on the Delhi-Ambala National Highway, DIG Rajshree Singh said, “These had been sent to Forensic Science Laboratory for examination”. Asked how challenging would it be for the police to
identify culprits of the alleged incident, she said police was visiting the “scene of the crime” to collect clues.
